3 Ways to Boost Your Motivation to Work Out

Summer is around the corner—which means summer bodies are coming out in full force! Many of us feel pressure to get in better shape for the season since hotter weather often means less clothing. Don’t let it stress you out—instead, embrace a mindset for exercising that will transform your body and your life.

Exercise is the clearest path to improving physical fitness—and it helps with weight loss and improving your overall health as well. It’s essential for building leaner, stronger muscles that burn more calories and fat. Working out also releases endorphins that provide a natural high that elevates our moods and makes us happier overall.

Yet despite how wide-ranging the benefits are, it can be hard to exercise as much as we plan to on a weekly basis. If you’re having trouble sticking to your fitness goals, read on for some excellent tips from our nutrition mindset coach to help you stay on track for better health and reaching your fitness goals.

1. Grab a Buddy

Studies show that one of the best ways to stick to your workout regimen is to enlist a partner or a friend with the same goals as you. This will keep you accountable and help motivate you on those days that you’re not feeling it—and vice versa. Plus, you’ll have someone to talk to, help you with your form and spot you when you add weight to your strength training moves.

2. Squeeze in Whatever You Can

Instead of skipping exercise altogether, squeeze in shorter workouts on days where your schedule is jam-packed. If you can’t do your usual hour of training one day, make time for a shorter workout. Even 10 or 20 minutes of exercise will make a difference. It’s better than not working out at all—and mixing up the duration of your workout will actually help with your overall results. If you can’t make it to the gym or go for a run, take a walk on your lunch break or run stairs in your neighborhood or building.

3. Get Creative

Try a bunch of different classes, videos, studios and outdoor workouts to keep your workouts fresh and fun so that it’s easier to stay motivated. Get creative and try rock climbing, surfing, boxing, dance or any other type of activity that you’ve always wanted to try—you’ll look forward to these activities and forget that you’re working out.

Consider working with a nutrition mindset coach to find new ways like the above to transform your body and get in the best health of your life.
